it was a room of like minded people with aligned values.
in amongst the speeches, mini tour, break out, and chats on advocacy for issues we were all passionate about .. stories and experiences were shared, ideas were discussed, and plenty of inspiration dished out, left right center.
and as a Curtin Alumni ambassador for the Because They Dare annual appeal, i was given the spotlight to briefly share why i advocate for accessible education, and why it matters. wasn't sure if i succinctly spread my message, but basically ..
i believe when you afford opportunities to those who need it the most - when they end up "making it", they will in turn, tend to "repay the favour" and continue the cycle - thus creating a positive repetition of always helping the next generation have better access to education.
